Wednesday, November 6, 2013 Update

Today has been a good day for Lenah.  Her vital signs are all good. She has done well on the breathing trials....much better that yesterday.  So we are making good progress on that front. There is another new development.  The tube that she has placed through her nose and down into her stomach (nasogastric or NG tube) is set to intermittent suction.  Previously, the secretions that it pulled from her stomach were pale. Today they have darkened a bit.  No one has said anything yet, but I believe this to be a possible sign that cholestasis is being resolved.  It looks like bile is showing up in her stomach.  I am very excited.
Please continue to pray for Baby E.  His condition continued to worsen after I left last night.  His family live far away and had actually planned to go home for a visit yesterday.  He also has a twin that they are having to care for while being here at the hospital.  They were prematurely born at 33 weeks gestation and are less than a week younger than Lenah.  Baby E's twin is doing very well and has no heart issues. When I came into "the pod" today, Baby E was gone and my heart stopped.  I was so glad to see his parents faces when I went down to look for them in the family waiting area. Baby E has been moved to a private room. Mommy and Daddy are exhausted as you can imagine. They need prayer coverage.   Baby E is in critical condition......but he is still here.

Here is a picture of "the pod". Lenah is in the far right.

  1. Praying for your Lenah and Baby E too. Such great news about your little lady...praying that her body is building strength and it's parts are learning to work perfectly in God's plan.
