Thursday, November 7, 2013 Update

Today Lenah is exactly 8 weeks old. She had more breathing trials today and she seemed to be doing well. But over time the oxygenation in her brain started going down which was a sign that her heart was having to work too hard. So they turned the ventilator back on and suspended plans to try to remove her from the ventilator.  She looked more yellow to me today than yesterday.
When I arrived at the hospital this was waiting on Lenah's crib.
This is what it looks like unfolded:
Here she is:

Later on in my visit, another of Lenah's baby neighbors started having trouble.  Baby F had to be put on the ventilator.  She has not been feeling very well for the last couple of days and today was just too much.  When they had to turn the bright overhead lights to take care of Baby F, Lenah was very upset with having the bright light in her eyes.  I placed one of her baby hats over her eyes, but apparently it was not enough.  She had to put her own sock-covered hands over her eyes as well. She really is there and sleeping well under those pink socks.

Please keep Baby E and Baby F in your prayers.  Thank you for checking on Lenah and for praying for her.
